I had another good experience yesterday in dealing with the insurance company for my parents&#039; accident.  The guy actually called me after I left a message.  Shocking!  He answered my questions, and I was able to put Mom&#039;s mind at ease.  I really do like to be pleasantly surprised when people do their jobs well.

Oddly my best recent experience was with a guy trying to get sign-ups to &quot;sponsor a sticky dog&quot; for a national dog charity.  

I know, he&#039;s sales - he&#039;s there to get the sign up.  
Why did I adopt a sticky dog?  

Because I had concerns and he went above and beyond, even calling me back on with answers to questions he didn&#039;t have to hand when we spoke in the Supermarket.  I had asked him to and really didn&#039;t expect it.  

Yes, he wanted the sale, but the time he spent chatting in person and on the phone later far outweighed the commission these guys get.

Funny you should ask.....

Epson customer support spend 90 minutes on the phone with me helping me to get my scanner set up. It had stopped working (I have a fairly complicated PC network setup) and they were patient, persistent and polite.

They got it going in the end :-) It was only a £40 product, so they must be well down on the deal - but have gone up in my estimation hugely for their brilliant service. 

Epson for me next time :-)

With the boot on the other foot, I always try to deliver great service to my customers too.

My Dad always told me &quot;It&#039;s not making a mistake that matters - it&#039;s how quickly you fix it and make it better for the customer.&quot;
