I was walking around the house procrastinating the actual writing of the post yesterday when I thought about great opening lines. Occupying my mind elsewhere tends to offer the best openers. I don’t know why it works, but most of the time, I can find a helpful opening sentence. Another technique that work is writing the rest of the post first to find out where I am going and then putting that first sentence in front. Having lived in Texas for four years, I still love the Southern humor. Many times I will draw on some experience from that time in my life.

I remember so many great storybooks when we were growing up. Life seemed to be a lot less governed by TV. I still love to read great stories that move at a good pace and reveal some snippets of truth.

Coming up with relevant topics is much more challenging that writing the post. Always fun to find one that interests me while I am looking for something that would draw readers. I still believe that life offers the best blog post fodder, but sometimes a topic just jumps out at me.
